Who should have access to Nexus and which role to choose
Which role should you choose when adding a person to Nexus?
On Nexus, people can have multiple roles. In this situation, the role with the highest access rights will take precedent. For example, an Escalation Contact may also be a Manager. If you add both roles to their personal profile, this person will be able to access Nexus as a Manager. We only advise enabling portal access for Admins & Managers.
Admins have the highest level of access on Nexus. This role can view all menu items on Nexus and can edit company-wide settings. Admins can add, edit and report on people, teams and alarm response information.
Managers can access all areas of Nexus but can only view, edit, add and report on their team(s). Managers must be assigned to a team on Nexus before they can view and edit information.
Users can view their own profile, app/device and locations if you choose to enable portal access. Only people with a User role on their profile can have apps & devices assigned to them.
Escalation Contacts can only view their own profile if you choose to enable portal access. Only people with the Escalation Contact role assigned to their profile can be added to an escalation plan.
