How to achieve high usage
BEST PRACTICE:
It is important that your Managers are advocates for the Peoplesafe service. They must have an understanding of what their team members need to do on a daily basis to keep them protected. They must also know how to monitor and manage their employee safety using the Peoplesafe portal. To ensure they are fully prepared to support their employees when they begin to use Peoplesafe, make sure that Managers are communicated to first.
For communications to Managers include:
Advice on encouraging daily usage
What reports to use and how to communicate with the team
Basics on how the product and alarms work (Training available)
MONITORING SERVICE USAGE
To make monitoring usage and activity of personal safety apps/devices, set up scheduled reports that give Managers regular snapshot views of which of their team have had the service active (Active Usage) or who have been actively using the features designed to support users at risk.
Make sure to give clear guidance as to what Managers should see on the reports, so they can speak to their team to manage their protection. Go to the next page to find out more.
Managers may get some resistance to using this new service, keep reading to find out more.
Before rolling out the service to your teams, make sure you communicate it by talking about how Peoplesafe enhances staff safety whilst working, keeping messaging simple about how, when, and why.
For staff communication include:
When to raise an alarm
How to use their product and when to use its features (Training available)
Incorporation into daily routines
To achieve and maintain good use of the service, you need to communicate best practices and continually monitor and manage the service.
When you assign a device or app to an employee, the first steps are always the same:
Your employees will understand how to use the service as part of their routine. This could be simple, or more involved depending on their risk level, though, we know that the more engaged with Peoplesafe that workers are, the more likely they will be confident in raising an alarm when they need it most.
Teams should test the SOS button once a quarter to be confident in how this works. Encourage managers to check this regularly.
