Our Alarm Controllers have multiple response options available to them when handling an alarm. It is very common that the Alarm Controller will need help from your internal team to manage the alarm correctly.
Most commonly, escalation contacts are made up of Managers, but consider who is the right fit for your business.
These people should be:
Not getting a response from the UserIf we cannot get a hold of the User and there is no evidence of an incident, we will call an escalation contact to help
More information is needed There isn't enough information on the alarm to verify and respond, so we will call an escalation contact to help
An incident has taken placeOnce an incident has been responded to, the User may ask us to notify an escalation contact
to answer the call and drop anything to help. They could be available in the vicinity and have a working phone.
of who they are an escalation contact for. Please make sure they know who these people are. We recommend close colleagues, Supervisors or Team Managers.
of the User's working conditions, risks and activities they complete regularly. Possibly have access to their diary or other useful information.
to help their colleagues and work with Peoplesafe by giving information, updates and keeping in contact during an open alarm.
with the direct phone number of the Users they are an escalation contact for. Often, people will more likely answer their colleague than our team as they recognise the number.
