Find out about how we have helped NHS trusts protect their people
Our specialist Alarm Controllers are trained to deal with every kind of scenario calmly, quickly, and professionally.
They handle alarms from NHS staff on a daily basis, successfully resolving incidents of violence, verbal abuse, intimidation and many more scenarios.
Here are just a few of the alarms we've recently received.
Verbal Abuse & ThreatAn NHS carer visiting a patient’s property became trapped inside. The patient was bleeding, and the carer worked to identify the cause while being verbally abused by the patient's wife. Feeling unsafe, the carer activated an alarm. The Alarm Controller listened for 10 seconds, accessed voice memos, and verified the location. The patient’s wife blocked the exit, so the controller contacted police. The Alarm Controller kept the carer informed until police arrived to resolve the situation.
Patient AttackAn NHS mental health nurse was attacked while working at a GP surgery reception. The nurse activated his SOS alarm, which alerted the Peoplesafe ARC. The nurse reported being stabbed, and the perpetrator was still present. The ARC Controller confirmed the location, contacted an ambulance, and used the URN to reach the local police. Within 4 minutes, both police and ambulance were on the scene. Reassurance was provided to the nurse until help arrived and his line manager was informed.
Thwarted Suicide AttemptA mental health nurse discovered that a service user had jumped off a ten-story car park building. In a frantic state, the nurse activated an SOS alarm to the Peoplesafe ARC. The Alarm Controller promptly contacted emergency services, shared relevant information with the dispatch team, and informed the nurse’s line managers. One of the managers arrived at the scene to provide in-person support. Throughout the ordeal, the Alarm Controller remained on the line with the user, offering reassurance.
“For staff out in the community, carrying a Peoplesafe device is the same as a police officer having a radio. It’s essential.
The peace of mind you have from knowing there is emergency contact available at all times can’t be underestimated, especially when you are lone working in more remote areas"
