You cannot evaluate new technology if you don’t know what you have today. Map out your current state:
What’s your current lone worker protection process? Manual check-in calls? Buddy systems? Nothing formal?
• Who are your lone workers and where do they work? Field technicians? Delivery drivers? Remote site inspectors? Night shift warehouse staff? Each has different needs.
• What communication infrastructure exists? Cellular coverage? Wi-Fi availability? Radio systems?
• What systems would this need to integrate with? Dispatch systems? EHS management software? Emergency notification platforms?
• Who would respond to alerts? On-site supervisors? A 24/7 monitoring center? Local emergency services?
