Engineer AttackAn engineer responding to a home call faced violence from a customer. The customer verbally abused the engineer and then physically attacked him with a broom. The engineer activated his SOS alarm, which prompted the Alarm Controller to escalate the situation to the police via the Unique Reference Number (URN). While waiting for the police, the Controller informed the user’s manager. The police arrived on site within 5 minutes and the user confirmed they were safe.
Meter Reader AssaultedA meter reader was assaulted and locked in a cupboard by a resident while taking a reading at their property. The meter reader activated their SOS alarm, which reached an expert Alarm Controller. The user confirmed that they were unharmed but felt unsafe and requested police assistance. The Controller relayed information to the police, including GPS location and user details taken from their Nexus profile. The police attended the address and were able to diffuse the situation.
Stranded in the SnowAn engineer, responding to a routine service call, became stranded in the snow without mobile signal. Luckily, his Peoplesafe device had a roaming SIM, ensuring emergency coverage. He activated an SOS alarm and the Alarm Controller was able to access his Nexus profile, identify escalation contacts, and promptly contact a family member. The device provided precise location details via What3Words. The Controller remained on the line, offering comfort until help arrived.
